Happy New Year to you! We pressed our way into 2022. Yet, we are all still learning how to live “our new normal” in these unprecedented times. We at Madison Gospel 5K Foundation recognize that in order for us to continue to move forward we must continue to make out time to come together and celebrate one another. Each of us and our families must continue to be resilient. We must continue to run and not grow weary, we must continue to walk and not be faint. We at Madison Gospel 5K are continuously working on ways to provide resources, support and assist Madison residents, especially our most vulnerable.

Last year, we stood boldly and were able to bring the community together. We walked proudly and we ran swiftly. We had over 300 participants and their families join us in person as well as virtually. We even had our Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes in attendance. We were able to use the funds raised to support local vendors, many of which were from the BIPOC community. We will also be presenting mini scholarships to students this spring/summer who are pursuing a career in health and wellness.

With your support, we can and will do even more! We will continue to focus on providing a safe, fun, competitive racing experience for our participants while adhering to all local and state regulations, CDC social distancing and safety guidelines. Depending on where we are by July 16th, to ensure maximum safety, we will only have the city’s accepted number of participants as recommended by the Public Health of Madison & Dane County recommendations.

So, mark your calendars and get ready, we will be hosting our 4th Annual Madison Gospel 5K Run/Walk & Health Fair on Saturday July 16th at Penn Park. This event will be held as an in-person and virtual event. 

The mission of the Madison Gospel 5K Run/Walk is to unite the Madison community in exercising our faith, fellowship, and building a healthier city through the promotion of healthy lifestyles in all its aspects.

Participants will receive some amazing swag, a short-sleeve t-shirt that will be available ONLY when registered by July 1st and an awesome finisher medal.
