Creating healthier families one individual at a time through faith, fellowship, and fitness.

A Few Words From Our Founder

First off, thank you, thank you and thank you!

Thank you to all of you who took the time to participate at our 3rd Annual Madison Gospel 5K Run/Walk event. With the support of our sponsors and our participants, you all made it our most successful one we have had to date. This year's theme was "Stand Boldly. Walk Proudly. Run Swiftly." Thank you for standing boldly with us as we were able to bring the community together at such a time like this to celebrate one another. We walked proudly and took the time to take in all the beauty of the day. And lastly, we ran swiftly. We had over 300 participants and their families join us in person as well as virtually. We even had our Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes there! We were able to use the funds raised to support local vendors, some of which were from the BIPOC community. We will also be presenting mini scholarships to students who are pursuing a career in health and wellness.

We at Madison Gospel 5K express our sincerest gratitude to all our sponsors. Thank you to SSM St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison Chocolate Inc, The Healthy Place, Movin’ Shoes, Boulders Climbing Gym, UW Carbone Cancer Center, Park Bank, The Princeton Club, Lighthouse Church & School, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Culver’s, Ian’s Pizza, MATC-South Goodman Campus, Tri-4-Schools, Remedy Massage, UPS, State Farm-Tyler Peterson, Ellie Meier Luxury and South Madison Farmers’ Market.

Additionally, special thanks to our amazing board and committee who worked tirelessly throughout the year to ensure that this event was a safe and successful one. For everything each of you have done for us in the past, everything each of you still do and will continue to do, we at Madison Gospel 5K Foundation just want you to know how thankful we are and we look forward to a prosperous future together. Know that Madison Gospel 5K will continue to work hard at serving our Madison community, especially our most vulnerable.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

I am a wife and mother of three. Currently, I am employed as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery. As a nurse, I spend a lot of time educating patients about their health and treatment plans provided by their physicians. I am passionate and love what I do. My hope and goal is to help others realize this in themselves. I want to spread the word on how important it is to live a life of health and wellness. After living an unhealthy life for most of my twenties and thirties, I am here to say that you are never too old to make a change. I hope to inspire as well as encourage those near and far to take the first courageous step at being a more fit you. Are you ready? Let’s Go!
